We are happy to announce that both the USA and Canadian governments have authorized the processing of new Haitian adoptions! Therefore HCH is now accepting applications for adoptions. To see if you qualify to adopt from Haiti, please click (here).
Melinda will continue to oversee the adoption process, write proposals and communicate with parents, agencies etc. Melinda can be reached at 352-307-2449 or 772-209-2527. She would prefer to take calls between 9 AM to 5 PM EST or she can set up phone appointments for other times if needed. She can also be reached at hchkids@yahoo.com.
Pat's New Contact Info
Pat Smith can now be reached at 352-512-1357. She is happy to take calls anytime and can speak with adoptive parents and volunteers to give general information. She would also be delighted to hear from parents about the progress of children who are already home.
HCH's main building was damaged in an aftershock following the large earthquake in Haiti on January 12th, 2010. After reviewing engineers' reports, it has been decided that the bulding is no longer structurally safe for our children and plans are underway for relocation and rebuilding.
The children have been living in tents and we are very greatful to the mission team who recently built some temporary housing for the children to stay in on the orphanage grounds until the new housing is complete. You can see some pictures taken at HCH during the building of this project here.
Volunteering
HCH is looking for volunteers who are familiar with HCH and are able to stay at HCH for 2-3 months at a time. These volunteers are needed at the end of the summer and into the fall months. If you can help or have any questions, please contact Patti Vold at Email: vvold@rttinc.com Phone: 403-783-6079
